This October Beegees and Nedap demonstrate their newest RFID technology for libraries at the International Conference of Asian Libraries (ICAL) 2017. Thanks to remote RFID detection libraries are able to secure, handle and sort books in faster, simpler and more reliable. Our Indian partner, Beegees Computers Pvt. Ltd. will demonstrate Nedap's revolutionary RFID solutions from 26 to 28 October.
What is RFID technology for libraries?
RFID technology is already used in many libraries worldwide. RFID stands for Radio-Frequency IDentification. An RFID device serves the same purpose as a barcode or magnetic strip, but in this case there is no need for physical contact. An RFID device must be scanned to retrieve the identifying information.
As RFID is a very scalable system for libraries you will always be prepared for the future. This means that you can start with a basic investment, e.g. labels and security gates, and later on you can add more functionalities, such as self-service or inventory, without having to change any of the labels or products you bought before.
What is the ICAL 2017?
The International Conference of Asian Libraries (ICAL) 2017 is an event that examines wether libraries can reposition themselves as nerve center of E-Governance & Digitisation. The Asian Library Association is headquartered in New Delhi and plays in an important role in the promotion of librarianship accross the Asian continent.
